After the initial shock, Jennifer felt increasingly irritated. She didn’t want to be anywhere near Adrian. Just seeing him reminded her of that photo.
Maybe she should just call for a helicopter to get her out of here.
Jennifer frowned, lost in thought. Suddenly, she heard the director’s voice, reminding her that it was time to start the shooting.
She looked around and realized she was a bit late. There were only two seats left, and the seats were both in front of Adrian.
She reluctantly sat down, and Wilbert sat next to her. He talked nonstop to keep a conversation, trying to charm her.
Actually, Jennifer had already rejected Wilbert off-camera.
She had made it clear to him that she was only there for fun and not to find a partner.
But Wilbert just laughed it off. He said he didn’t mind. Since he really liked her, he wanted to try his best to win her heart.
So, despite Jennifer’s rejection, Wilbert remained by her side unwaveringly. It was as if she was the only one in his eyes.
Since Jennifer sat in front of Adrian, she felt uncomfortable.
At this moment, Wilbert offered her a bottle of water.
Jennifer wanted to refuse at first. But she suddenly remembered that Adrian was still behind her. She paused, then changed her earlier dismissive attitude. She smiled at Wilbert and asked softly, “Can you put a straw inside the bottle for me?”
Wilbert was surprised, but he was delighted at the same time. Finally, Jennifer accepted something from him. His eyes lit up as he said happily, “Of course!”
Then, he hurriedly took the straw, put it inside, and extended the bottle to Jennifer.
Jennifer didn’t take the bottle. Instead, she smiled, leaned forward, and sipped from the straw while Wilbert held the bottle.
Adrian had been watching Jennifer’s every move from behind. When he saw this scene, he was so furious that his face turned red. He was about to say something when Holden suddenly pinched his thigh hard.
The pain made him let out a muffled groan and hold back any outburst.
Jennifer heard the noise behind her, but she didn’t look back. She snorted inwardly but smiled charmingly at Wilbert while thanking him.
She chatted and laughed with him, making Wilbert’s ears and cheeks red.
